Volcanoes

These are many volcanoes in Indonesia. Volcanoes are very beatiful but can be very dabgerous as well. some volcanoes erupt and shoot out gases into the air. Vovanoes can also pour out lava and roots. Lava is very hot. The temperatur may be above 1.000 derajat celcius.

Sometime, the lava traps gases inside the volcano. If this happens the volcanoes can explode. Pople in Indonesia. In 1994, Mounth Merapi erupted, shooting out smoke, steam and volcanicah hight into the air. The hot smoke and steam killed many people.


There was a small volcanic island betwen Java and Sumatra. The volcano on the island was called Krakatau. In 1883, Mounth Krakatau erupted, shooting. The erupted destroy the island. It made the loudest noise ever hard on earth. Dust from the eruption rose thousand of matres into the air. After the dust had settled, the island disapeared.

Years ago, volcaoes without warning. The burning lava destroyed whole village and towns. Nowday, scientists have learned how to farecast when a volcano is going to erupted. if it going to be a big eruption, people are toldto leavedangerous areas.
